CNPC in Thailand

CNPC began to invest in Thailand's oil and gas resources since 1993, while also providing oilfield services in the country.

CNPC has rights and interests in the Banya development block, BYW-NS development block and L21/43 risk exploration block. Block L21/43 has an effective exploration area of 400 square kilometers out of a block area of over 3,000 square kilometers. In 2005, we drilled 7 development wells and 2 exploration wells, all encountering oil reservoirs.

CNPC provides oilfield services in Thailand, including geophysical prospecting, well drilling, logging and testing. Since 2000, we have signed drilling service contracts with PTTEP and AMSERDHESS. In 2011, CNPC's subsidiary China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP) and Thailand's PTTEPI signed the EPCIC general contracting contract on the Myanmar-Thailand Gas Pipeline. In 2012, CPP began to build the pipeline. In 2013, CPP won the contract for the Nakhon Sawan Gas Pipeline Project in Thailand. In 2014, CPP completed and made operational the Myanmar-Thailand Gas Pipeline, and proceeded with construction of the Nakhon Sawan Gas Pipeline in Thailand. In 2015, the pilot operation of the Nakhon Sawan Gas Pipeline Project was completed.

Aug. 2014 CPP completed and made operational the Myanmar-Thailand Gas Pipeline.

Mar. 2012 CPP began to build the Myanmar-Thailand Gas Pipeline.

Nov. 23, 2011 CNPC's subsidiary CPP and Thailand's PTTEPI signed the EPCIC general contracting contract on the Myanmar-Thailand Gas Pipeline.

Jun. 2006 CNPC acquired the equity of the BYW-NS development block with the approval of Thailand's Ministry of Energy.

Jul. 17, 2003 CNPC signed a concession agreement on the L21/43 Block with the Ministry of Energy of Thailand.

1993 CNPC purchased a 95.67% interest of Banya Block.
