Large-scale exploitation of the giant Anyue gas field by technological breakthroughs in deep carbonate gas reservoir development

Key technologies for large-scale exploitation of giant carbonate gas reservoirs were developed, facilitating the efficient development of China’s largest monomer uncompartmentalized carbonate gas reservoir.

Highlights:

  • 02Prediction technology of deep low-porosity carbonate-rich zones showed coincidence rate of 88% in predicting small-scale fractures and centimeter-level solution cave development zones.
  • Performance prediction technology for fractured-vuggy water-bearing gas reservoirs of high heterogeneity and high pressure showed coincidence rate of over 90%.
  • Deep heterogeneous reservoir stimulation solution with self-developed degradable plug, fiber diverting agent, diverting acid, and heat-resistant (180℃) gelled acid and fracturing fluid was developed.Three kinds of layered diverting techniques were developed for different reservoir characteristics and well types, with success rate 100% in stimulation operations, and gas output increased by 1.5-8.6 times.
  • Key technologies for rapid productivity build-up for high-yield sour gas fields were developed, realizing for the first time, the standard, modularized, skid-mounted and factory construction of surface engineering for large-scale sour gas field in China.

These innovative technologies were successfully applied in the Longwangmiao Formation, which was rapidly built up into a giant gas field with an annual production capacity of 11 billion cubic meters, and an average single well daily output of over 1 million cubic meters.
